I've been trying something new lately. I've gotten it into my head that I want to crochet. Fortunately for me, my grandmother has tried to teach me several times throughout my life, so I at least recognized that types of supplies I would need.

Off I go to the local fabric store (where they now know me by name) and I purchase my favorite colors of yarn. I love to browse around etsy.com and they have the cutest baby beanies. Challenge accepted!

I get everything I need and settle in on the couch to google some tutorials online. All I can say is thank you Teresa! Check out her blog at The Art of Crochet by Teresa. So, I attempt my first little baby beanie which looks like a hat, but that's about all I can say for it.

So, I decided to try something a little different. I followed the same instructions, evened up my stitches, and even added a bill to the front. Unfortunately, I'm cursed.

The poor child who would fit this next hat would have to have been delivered with the help of a vacuum. I don't know why it turned out as if it was specially made for someone from the movie "Coneheads", but it did. I'm only adding the pictures for entertainment purposes and to show you that everything takes practice!

By the way, if you have tips for me, please share!
